The opening movie for phase 5 of the Marvel universe in particular and the superhero movie genre in 2023 in general officially landed in Vietnamese and international theaters last week. It’s hard to believe that a B-list superhero like Ant-Man is favored by Marvel to make up to 3 movies even though his superpowers are just zooming in and out and saying a few funny lines. With Ant-Man traveling to the quantum world and confronting the main villain of the entire Marvel universe, Kang the Conqueror, will the movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (Vietnamese title: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania) Will the Wasp: Quantum World change the way the audience views this superhero? Let’s review the movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania with Tip to get the answer!

Plot: After the major events of the Marvel universe, Ant-Man Scott Lang returns to a happy real life with Hope and his beautiful daughter Cassie. While showing off her invention to the whole family, Cassie accidentally caused everyone to fall into a strange and dangerous quantum world. In particular, the whole family also has to avoid the pursuit of a villain that everyone is afraid to mention in Quantumania. What will happen to Ant-Man and his loved ones?
Overall, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a pretty entertaining movie, opening up an exciting quantum world and helping to increase the connection to Marvel’s multiverse film series. The villain is also a highlight of this movie, but it is still difficult to compare his danger with the previous villain – Thanos. The movie is not too special but also not as boring as the separate movies in phase 4 of the Marvel universe even though the content is a bit circular and lacking in logic. Let’s review with Tip the strengths and weaknesses of Ant-Man and the Wasp (2023) to better understand this movie.

Plus mark:

According to Tipreview, the most commendable point of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the film’s storytelling. Although the content is simple and quite long and rambling, the filmmakers know how to lead viewers and add action scenes as well as funny jokes so that the audience does not feel bored and wants to find out more. what will happen next. This is the outstanding success of Ant-Man 3 compared to other films and thanks to this, viewers will have a pretty good impression of the film, especially in terms of entertainment.

Another plus point worth mentioning of the film is that the special effects have been invested somewhat more carefully than Marvel’s phase 4 films. The quantum world is portrayed quite interestingly with many strange creatures that only exist in our imagination. Although it is difficult to compare with Avatar’s Pandora, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania still does a great job as a tour guide, immersing viewers in this world. The humor is also more restrained, making the film more charming and attractive to the audience.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’s acting is one of the things the movie does well. Ignoring the loose, uninteresting and inconsistent character construction, the cast’s acting brings an indescribable charm to viewers. The most prominent member of the cast is probably the villain Kang, played by Jonathan Majors, with pensive expressions but also full of madness and cruelty. The Ant-Man and Wasp couple, despite their best efforts and being the main characters, were actually overshadowed by Kang and the beauty of little girl Cassie, but the stiffness in this actress’s expression made the The interactions between the actors are still a bit out of rhythm.

For Marvel fans, the ending of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and 2 after-credits will make them feel excited because the exciting things of this superhero universe are waiting ahead. For Ant-Man, this part 3 seems to be the complete end of his film series and more clearly shape the Ant-Man brand in the hearts of the audience.

Minus point:

It seems like what happens in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a bit big compared to the scale of the solo Ant-Man movie. The film uses villains from the entire Marvel universe as antagonists for this film, while adding elements of time travel, multiverse, revolution to overthrow domination, and ant civilization to make the image. of Ant-Man and the brown wasp become blurred and lost in their own movie.

The above reason also makes the villain Kang become an elephant’s head and a mouse’s tail and completely pale compared to the dangerous and cruel names that people say about him as well as being far different from the original comic book. Many illogical details, especially in the character’s behavior and problem solving, will make fastidious audiences feel uncomfortable. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is spread out with too many characters, so it is difficult to fully capture the sympathy and love of the audience, even Mr. Kien and Ms. Ong.

The music and sound of the film are not unique and do not leave any impression on viewers. The film’s strangeness is relatively high. Although not unpleasant, the quantum world appears in the audience’s eyes like an illusion when using stimulants. The film has connections to previous parts of Ant-Man, but the appearance of these old characters is a joke to the audience. In addition, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a bit heavy on dogmatism and philosophy but does not really leave any deep meaning in the hearts of the audience.
Assessment scale:

IMDB: 6.6/10 (33,000 reviews)
Google: 85/100
Rotten Tomatoes: 48/100 (Rotten Tomatoes)
Tip review: 6.5/10 (Pretty addicting)
In short, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a fairly average movie in the Marvel cinematic universe, relatively worth watching in the context of cinemas being overwhelmed by the screenings of two Vietnamese films shown during Tet. Don’t set too many expectations about the movie and stay alert to watch this movie, you will surely have relatively interesting adventure moments and better grasp what is about to happen in Marvel’s superhero world. !
